Notes for synchronous belt drive installation
When installing the belt to the belt pulley, check whether the number of teeth of the belt and the belt groove match correctly before tensioning drive.
Synchronous belt transmission tension
Correction of belt transmission tension and alignment is important to optimize belt life and minimize noise levels. In fact, the improper tension in the belt drive will affect the belt fit in the belt groove, but the correct tension will minimize the interference of the belt pulley and reduce the noise in the drive.
In the transmission of
Misalignment of the belt pulley will result in an unequal tension, edge wear, and ultimately reduce the life of the belt. In addition, due to the interference between the synchronous gear and wheel groove, the misaligned drive will be more noisy than the correct one. Use a ruler or a laser alignment tool to check that the pulley is properly aligned.
Idler wheel [installation details of idler wheel]
When the center toe is rounded, the idler is usually a means of applying tension to the transmission. But it can also increase the number of teeth in gear mesh. Compared with the back idler, it is recommended to use the toothed idler in the inner measurement of the loose side of the synchronous belt. Internal flat idlers are not recommended because of noise and abnormal wear of the belt.
* idler wheel is located in the loose edge range of synchronous belt drive
* the diameter of the toothed idler used for the tooth surface must be larger than that of the small belt pulley in the equal dry drive.
The sui wheel must be mounted on a rigid bracket.
* the idler must be straight and toothed. There should be no arc surface and the contact radian should be the lowest:
Recommended use of idler: back side of smooth wheel pressure synchronous belt, toothed synchronous belt wheel pressure synchronous belt with tooth surface
* the width of the sui wheel should be greater than or equal to the width of the belt wheel B
Although the back sui wheel increases the number of teeth engaged on the two belt wheels in the transmission, the reverse bending force of the synchronous belt may lead to early failure. When the idler must be selected, its diameter must be 1.25 times larger than the diameter of the small belt pulley in the transmission, and it must be located as close as possible to the small belt pulley in the transmission, so as to maximize the number of teeth in the gnashing of the small belt pulley.
Loading, unloading and storage of synchronous belts [storage, transportation and maintenance of synchronous belts]
Proper storage is important, in order to avoid damage to the synchronous belt, it may cause premature failure of the synchronous belt synchronous belt must not be stored in the floor, unless it is in a protective container, in order to avoid damage, it could seriously cause personal injury or equipment damage synchronous belt should be stored in the direct illuminate, a cool and dry environment, no chemicals exist around) to avoid the synchronous belt in the window (to avoid sunlight and humidity), shall not be close to the motor or produce ozone equipment, no direct air flow near the heating/cooling system.
During loading, unloading or storage, the synchronous belt shall not be crimped to avoid damage to the core of the belt. The synchronous belt shall not be suspended on small pins to avoid bending to a small diameter [see the minimum bending diameter allowed by GAIGI gage synchronous belt pulley for details]. Handle the belt carefully during movement and installation. During installation, the synchronous belt shall not be forced on the flange of the pulley.
